This page explains how Pacific Coast Surf Camp ("we", "us") collects and handles personal information when you use this website or book a session. Last updated: 1 August 2026.
What we collect
- Booking details: your name, email, phone number, dates, group size and experience level.
- Health and safety information: injuries, medical conditions, swimming ability and, for under-18s, a parent or guardian contact. We ask for this because it affects how we run the session safely.
- Payment information: handled by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Website analytics: anonymous usage statistics, only if you accept cookies. The site works normally if you decline.
How we use it
To confirm and run your booking, to contact you if conditions change, to process payment and refunds, to meet our insurance and safety obligations, and — only if you opt in — to send occasional notes about availability. We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
Who we share it with
Only where necessary: our payment provider, our email provider, our insurer in the event of an incident, and emergency medical services if you need them. Coaches see the health information relevant to the session they are running. Everyone is bound by confidentiality.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months. Completed bookings: 7 years, for accounting and insurance reasons. Health declarations: deleted within 30 days of your session unless an incident occurred, in which case our insurer requires us to retain them.
Photographs
We film sessions for coaching review. Those clips are shared with the person filmed and deleted within 60 days. We sometimes ask whether we can use a photograph publicly — that is always an explicit, separate question, and "no" has no effect on anything else.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working, including remembering your cookie choice. Analytics cookies run only after you press Accept. Clearing your browser data withdraws that consent.
Your rights
- Ask what data we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to the retention periods above.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.

Security
We limit who can access booking records, use encrypted connections and review access periodically. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
